Hon. Dato Sri Abdul Karim launched Sarawak’s first pavilion at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The pavilion features 9 exhibitors and aims to promote Sarawak a thought leadership destination for legacy-driven business events.
Making its debut at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (TMS APAC) 2025, Sarawak is turning heads with the regional launch of its revamped Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign — anchored by the compelling new tagline: “Driving Impact Together.”
This marks their commitment to positioning Sarawak as the capital of legacy impact for Malaysia and Borneo through three transformative initiatives:
“International business events are the new economic drivers in Sarawak therefore an independent pavilion at TMS APAC is an investment for Sarawak. With our vision of becoming the legacy capital of business events in Malaysia and Borneo, the three transformative initiatives are going to help us bring global communities together and strengthen our market position,” said the Honourable Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak. “Business event legacies cannot be built without events first and foremost, so relationship-building and business development at TMS APAC are equally important strategies while we are here.”
Since 2019, Sarawak has been on a transformative journey — shifting its business events focus from tourism-centric to legacy-driven outcomes with the strong support from the Sarawak Government.
“Every initiative we’ve launched in 2025 is designed to bring people and drive impact together through business events. Through our three transformative programmes and strong collaborations with local brands, we’re proving that real change happens when we drive it together,” said Amelia Roziman, CEO of BESarawak. “This isn’t just about Sarawak. It’s a collective journey, and we welcome all sectors and industries to walk alongside the business events sector. That’s what I AM LEGACY stands for — a transformative movement that values impact from every person, not just professionals.”
Sarawak is proving its impact-driven approach by actively partnering with industry players who are equally committed to creating meaningful outcomes through business events:
Pavilion organiser, BESarawak, has also partnered with Sarawakian food and beverage providers, KANTIN and The Bibber’s Tale, to showcase local gastronomy at TMS APAC.
Since its founding in 1992, Meeting Media Group, publisher of Headquarters Magazine (HQ), has been a trusted guide and voice for associations and the global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry.
